BAe Wing 2000 Celebration
The purpose of the event was celebrate the production of the 2000th set of Airbus wings and also to promote the development funding of the new A3XX aircraft a main competitor for the 747. Hosted at the end of the production line in a large hanger near Chester.
The presentation to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Chairman of BAe and extensive media, featured extensive surround sound effects to create a depth to the Airbus sound effects and musical stings. The show climaxed with the reveal of the huge wings themselves, followed by a musical piece about the journey of the wing manufacture by Richard Stilgoe.
To create the depth of field we flew Meyer Sound CQ-1s for sound effects, with MSL-2As & UPA-1Ps for the speech. All controlled from a DDA desk with BSS Vari-curve supplying the System EQ.
