Lend Lease Bluewater Opening Gala Dinner, Natural History Museum
When the Australian Company Lend Lease completed their latest large development called Bluewater, it was no surprise that they wanted to celebrate it in style - and they did!
Sound By Design supplied sound to four separate areas within the Natural History Museum, including the entrance foyer with subtle forest sound effects, through to the reception area with string quartet and announcements. In the Central Hall main acts such as the cast from Boogie Nights were featured. Finally the guests danced the night away to a 70's cover band and because the museum is open to visitors until 6pm, everything was rigged within 1.5 hours.
The Central Hall in the Natural History Museum is renowned for its 'lively' acoustics. Ensuring precise sound quality coupled with fast set-up times demands an innovative solution. Sound By Design spent an evening in the Museum taking measurements, as we did in the Royal Albert Hall, using Meyer Sound's SIM II system. These measurements along with CAD drawings mean that systems put into this venue are pre-programmed and will always be time-aligned to the main source, giving better clarity and definition to the overall sound.
