CBI Interactive Conference, Business Design Centre - November 2005
For the 2005 CBI Conference, the overall brief was to provide a fresh interactive approach that combined a seated conference area and integral exhibition. Conference proceedings were to be totally audible in the delegate areas and on the stands surrounding the perimeter of the conference space. Many of these stands were set out "al-fresco" style where delegates could relax into the conference proceedings with refreshments without the constraints of a formal setting normally associated with these type of events.
Two hangs of Meyer Sound M1D loudspeakers were hung either side of the platform and covered the main floor. Additional Meyer UPA-1Ps and UPA-2Ps covered the tiered seating and perimeter areas with Meyer UPM-1Ps utilised for front-fill. Two Meyer 650-P sub-bass speakers were located behind the set for music and video playback. At the heart of the system, a DiGiCo D1 mixing console handled all microphone and line inputs, performed overall system management and provided signal distribution for press and general distribution.
The on-site team was headed up by Sound By Design engineer Dave Shepherd, who also designed and rigged the system.
"This was one of our most successful events and is in no small part due to the efforts of you and your team. Nothing is too much trouble for you and knowing that I have this support makes life onsite so much easier"
