Forever Living Products World Rally - April 2001
Sound By Design recently looked after the design and supply of sound services at the Forever Living Products World Rally in Wembley Arena for production company Creative Realisation. The annual world rally hosted this year in the UK, brought in company representatives from over 40 countries together for awards, product launches and dance, all in one show.
The system comprised of left and right Meyer Sound MSL-4/ UPA-1P clusters, with Meyer 650-P sub-bass and UPA-1P front fill to compliment, providing a discrete yet highly effective system. All this was lined-up using Meyer's SIM II, to create a naturally time-aligned and coherent design.
"The client wanted a high impact system, which meant high levels of program and speech. To help achieve this, we used AKG headworn mics with Trantec radio mic systems "commented Lead Engineer Dave Shepherd.
We sent feeds to translation, radio in-ear monitors, recorders and back-stage areas. Three mini-disc machines handled the 50 different music and vocal stings. Over 30 communication headsets were installed for the show, including radio comms, interfaced into the wired system.
"I would be very hard pressed to find any aspects of the service which I would wish to see improved. The engineers displayed a high level of skill and it was pleasing to see them work together as a team in such an effective manner."
