Permira Anniversary, Painted Hall - June 2005
The international private equity house Permira recently celebrated their 20th Anniversary with a prestigious dinner at the Painted Hall in Greenwich. Sound By Design technically coordinated the dinner in conjunction with Permira's event team, providing sound, lighting and external projection. Guests arrived at the Royal Naval College by boat to Greenwich Pier and were then escorted through the grounds to the front entrance of the Painted Hall. A string quartet welcomed guests into the Colonnade area for an outdoor reception before taking seats for the birthday dinner.
The venue is known for it's lively acoustics and Sound By Design utilised it's Meyer Sound M1D line array on a ground support system to maintain full clarity of the spoken word without the need for multiple delay speakers.
The celebratory evening included a 3ft high birthday cake and keynote speeches delivered by Managing Partner Damon Buffini & Sir Win Bischoff. The evening ended in spectacular style with a display of floodlighting and projection onto the college buildings, as guests returned to the Pier via an illuminated central walkway.
