RAH Christmas Season  

Christmas Season, Royal Albert Hall, December 2011

Sound By Design are once again providing services for this year's Christmas Festival at the Royal Albert Hall, with concerts taking place nearly every day.

The season features special appearances by actor Dominic West and soprano Natasha Marsh, as well as a selection of much loved arias, operatic songs and Christmas carols.

For one night only, this UNICEF charity gala brought to life the poetry of Jeremy Lloyd that thirty years ago captured the imagination of young and old alike. This sold out show, backed by the West End Chorus, the English National Ballet and an orchestra rekindled that same magic for one more night.

Distant Worlds, Royal Albert Hall, November 2011

Sound By Design provided audio support for the "Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy" show at the Royal Albert Hall in November.

Performing music from the much loved computer game series, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra sold out the venue with a show which promises to return next year.

Star of Broadway Idina Menzel performed a one night extravaganza of show tunes and pop hits at the Royal Albert Hall this October, backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

The show had Sound By Design provide monitors, front-of-house and PA to a magical night for the star of Wicked and Glee.

For a show that was only ever intended to run for six weeks back in 1961, Songs of Praise could be said to be doing well, especially reaching the fifty year milestone and being rarely uttered in a sentence without “national institution” following it.

Grease, Natural History Museum, September 2011

A busy five day period saw Sound By Design installed at the Natural History Museum for two very large and prestigious events. The first, a company’s tenth anniversary, saw the Central Hall turned into the West End where a fifty minute version of Grease was performed.

BBC Proms 2011 – Prom 40: Comedy Prom

"Is nothing sacred anymore?" posed master Minchin, masked by a grey wig and beard, leaping out from the stalls that he had lain in wait pre-show in abject anonymity before launching into a fully orchestrated musical number about the plight of the quality of the Proms.
