Installation in The Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room

The Royal Albert Hall recently opened the doors to a new venue, the transformed Elgar Room, which now incorporates built-in technical facilities and the flexibility to match any event requirement.

Having had a long standing relationship with the Hall, Sound By Design were asked to install a new sound system which had to be versatile enough to cope with the variety of events planned in the space.

Delta Sound and Sound By Design join forces

Two well-known pro-audio industry heavy weights, Delta Sound and Sound By Design, are set to come together this autumn, with Delta Sound acquiring Sound By Design over an agreed period of time. The move will offer new and existing clients of both companies’ the significant benefit of their complementary skills sets and combined equipment portfolios.

Sound By Design support The Westminster Collection

Sound By Design are proud to be supporting The Westminster Collection's (TWC) Autumn networking event at the stunning Royal Courts of Justice on Tuesday 22nd September. Entitled A Night to Remember with TWC, the invitation is being sent out to the events industry for them to meet up with the members of TWC (now approaching 50 in all) who represent the very best of what Westminster has to offer the event planner and organiser.

Accreditation at Tate Britain & Tate Modern

Sound By Design are pleased to announce their accreditation at both Tate Britain & Tate Modern galleries. Tate Britain is a world centre for the understanding and enjoyment of British art while Tate Modern displays the national collection of international modern art.

RSVP London Show 2009

Sound By Design will be exhibiting at this years RSVP show, held at the Business Design Centre on 1st & 2nd April 2009. RSVP is the UK's largest event dedicated to the Corporate Party & Special events industry.

New Equipment

Sound By Design has recently invested in more new equipment with the purchase of (amongst others) Waves MaxxBCL compressor & bass enhancers, EM Acoustics EMS-152 loudspeakers, QSC PLX3602 amplifiers, Buttkicker Concert audio transducers, Tascam SS-R1 solid-state recorders and Mackie SRM150 shout monitors.

Re-accreditation at Kew Gardens

Sound By Design are delighted to announce their re-accreditation by Kew Gardens (RBG Kew Enterprises) as their approved supplier of AV equipment & Production for events. Kew offers a number of stunning venues for a wide range of private events with their world renowned gardens and iconic buildings providing a most unique and unforgettable setting for events.

Concerto Challenge 2008

Physical activity has been a theme at Sound By Design this October. The company are keen supporters of the International Special Events Society (ISES) and this year, four members of ISES including our MD, Andy Callin, took part in the annual charity challenge organised by the Concerto Group. Over 40 participants raised in excess of £20,000 for Muscular Dystrophy in a triathlon at Rutland Water, Leicestershire.

Chappie completes charity banger tour

Along with 3 friends, Sound By Design's Phill Chapman recently completed the annual "Sucata Run", a 2000km charity tour from Rouen in Northern France to the most westerly point in Europe, Cabo da Roca in Portugal, in a vehicle worth no more than £250.

Sarah completes another NVQ

Sarah is pleased as punch at the moment due to the fact that she has just passed her Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration.
